The Buddy-concept

The Buddy-Net is a faculty-wide program of the University of Hamburg, which aims to promote contact and exchange between local and foreign students.

Even before the arrival the International students (incomings) get allocated a student from Hamburg. Especially at the beginning there will be difficulties such as arrival in Hamburg, entry into the accomodation, the authorities, opening a bank-account etc.

The "buddy-Net" only organizes the contact between the students (ratio 1:1). Everything else will be discussed by the students.

Distributed over the semester the "Buddy-Net" offers cultural events such as meetings, excursions, theater and museum visits, which can participate in both the international as well as the students from Hamburg (mostly for free).
