One-semester programme "Chinese Law Taught in English"
Studying Chinese law in English
A study abroad adventure: a new country, a new language, and new people. Law students, on top of that, can immerse themselves in a new legal system. The China-EU School of Law offers the one-semester programme “Chinese Law Taught in English” every autumn in Beijing. The semester covers general knowledge of Chinese law as well as a comparative approach to legal studies.
The programme offers courses such as
- Chinese Business Law
- Chinese Law and Society
- Chinese Criminal Justice
- Chinese Anti-Monopoly Law
- Comparative Constitutional Law
- Chinese Administrative Law and Regulation
- Nonprofit Organisations
The programme is designed for young European law students with an interest in China. Applications are open to students who have studied or are studying law in an undergraduate or graduate programme. A very good command of English is required (TOEFL score of 100+ or IELTS 7.0+). The China-EU School of Law offers support to students who wish to learn Chinese in Beijing. The Chinese professors are teaching in English. In the classroom, international law students learn in small groups. Depending on their profile, students find work later in an international environment, which includes international law firms, companies, organisations, EU institutions, NGOs and research institutions.
