The “Master of European and International Law” is a one-year, English-language LL.M. programme which takes place in Beijing. The LL.M. programme focuses on European and international law. Graduates obtain an internationally-recognised LL.M. degree from Universität Hamburg. The curriculum is composed of

- International Business Law courses
- Elective courses in Beijing and at European partner universities

Additional courses introduce Chinese law, in particular Chinese private and public law. The China-EU School of Law also supports students who opt to learn Chinese.
Double Master for Chinese students
Three years – two LL.M. degrees: graduates from the Double Master’s programme combine a “Master of Chinese Law” (LL.M./J.M.) conferred by the China University of Political Science and Law with a “Master of European and International Law” (LL.M.) awarded by Universität Hamburg. The programme’s duration is three years. In the first year, students cover Chinese law in Chinese; in the second year, they examine European law and international law in English; and in the third year, they complete the double master’s degree with a master’s thesis, exams and an internship.
Professors from all over China and Europe
Students are taught European and international law by professors from the China-EU School of Law’s partner universities, such as Trinity College Dublin, Maastricht University and Autonomous University of Madrid. Chinese law is taught by professors from the China University of Political Science and Law, China’s largest and one of its highest-ranking universities in the field of law. European lecturers fly back and forth between China and Europe several times a year, hence students call this faculty the ‘Flying Faculty’.
