Berkeley, Yale, Oxford – and now, the China-EU School of Law (CESL). From February to April 2017, Dr Alessandro Romano supports CESL with his expertise in WTO Law and international law and economics. As an Assistant Professor, he will predominantly teach in the field of International Business Law in the Master of European and International Law. He joins a faculty of professors from 13 European law schools.
“Without a doubt, the best thing about teaching is awakening students’ curiosity,” he says. “No discovery is precluded when students become genuinely curious about their studies.”
Dr Alessandro Romano was a Visiting Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley, USA, in 2012, at Yale Law School, Connecticut, USA, in 2015, and Oxford Law School, UK, in 2016. He holds a PhD in Law and an LL.M. from Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and a Bachelor in Economics from the University of Naples Federico II, Naples, Italy. He also obtained a Master of Science in Business and Administration from LUISS Guido Carli Free International University for Social Studies, Rome, Italy.
“A truly global understanding of the world and law cannot be achieved without getting to know key players such as China,” Italian-born researcher Romano says. “Thus, the China-EU School of Law is possibly the best place to start broadening my horizons as it is located in the very heart of China.”
