Ceremony for 110 China-EU School of Law graduates

With the traditional cap toss, almost 110 students from the class of 2016 finished their legal studies at the China-EU School of Law. On 27 June, they celebrated their LL.M. and J.M. degrees with their families and professors on campus. “You can now contribute to the development of society by using your legal knowledge,” Prof. Wu Hongyao, Associate Professor for Procedural Law told his students in the welcoming address. 109 young Chinese and Europeans completed their law studies at the Chinese-European law school in 2016. 62 obtained a Double Master’s degree, combining a Master of Chinese Law conferred by the China University of Political Science and Law with a Master of European and International Law by the University of Hamburg. Further 38 young legal talents completed the Master of Chinese Law only, 9 focused on European and International Law.
Representing the students, graduates Zhu Binbin, Lakshmi Menon und Zhang Liang spoke at the ceremony. “I hope that the friendships that stroke up will last long,” Lakshmi Menon, who holds a Master’s degree of the University of Hamburg now, said.
“I sincerely appreciate how much team spirit this class developed, in spite of teachers and students from all over the world bringing diverse ideas and cultual backgrounds to the classroom again,” European Executive Co-Dean Dr Clemens Richter praised. He handed out the degree certificates with Chinese Co-Dean Prof. Liu Fei. “You have come a long way academically now,” Prof. Liu Fei stated. “I hope that you can be persistent now to fulfill your dreams.”
