Fighting cybercrime: professional training for prosecutors

In a training organised by the China-EU School of Law on 24 November 2016, 90 Chinese prosecutors learned about cybercrime in Europe. The one-day workshop at the National Prosecutors College in Beijing was taught by Dirk Jan Laman, public prosecutor at the National Prosecutors Office in Rotterdam with expertise in high-tech crime, and Gea Wind, Cyber Liasion Officer at the Dutch national police.
Prosecutor Laman gave a thorough overview of Europeans fight against fraud, sabotage, spy software and hate speech. In particular, he introduced the prosecutors to innovative techniques against cyber fraud. Cyber Liaison Officer Gea Wind who liaises between the National Police of the Netherlands, Europol and countries outside of the European Union, addressed the investigation and international cooperation at police level.
