About the Library
The Central Library Law (ZBR) is the main specialist library for law at University of Hamburg. It is operated by the Faculty of Law and is part of the University of Hamburg library system. Since 2004, the ZBR has been housed in its own new building. More information about the history and building can be found here (in German only).
The Library offers:
- over 1,000 workstations
- over 470,000 volumes
- around 900 journals (print) and over 2,500 electronic legal journals
- access to specialist legal databases and eBooks
- reservable group study rooms
- group work areas for groups of almost any size (reservations not required)
- a room for conducting brief literature searches which also holds a reference collection and journals
- scanning and photocopying facilities
- Wi-Fi and network connections at every workstation
- workstations for literature searches
- introductions to using the Library
- introductions to conducting literature searches using the Campus Catalogue
- assistance in searching for literature and other information
- borrowing items over the weekend
- and also long opening hours
