Mr. Prof. Dr. Pál Sonnevend,
will deliver a speech on
Opportunities and Obstacles: The Role of European Law in Restoring the Rule of Law
The event will take place at 6.30 p.m. in room EG 18/19 in the Faculty of Law (Rothenbaumchaussee 33). We would be pleased about your numerous appearances and a lively discussion. Afterwards, there will be the opportunity for personal exchange as part of a reception.
Pál Sonnevend graduated from ELTE Law School and earned his PhD at the Universität Heidelberg. He was the advisor of the first president of the Hungarian Constitutional Court, and later of two presidents of the Republic of Hungary, Ferenc Mádl and László Sólyom. Ha has been an agent of Hungary before the ICJ in the Gabcikovo-Nagymaros Case and a member of the OSCE Court of Conciliation and Arbitration. Moreover, he was a visting professor of the University of California Overseas Programme, the Andrássy Universität Budapest and the Universität Heidelberg. His recent publications include Transition 2.0, Re-establishing Constitutional Democracy in an EU-Member State, that he co-edited with Michal Bobek, Adam Bodnar and Armin von Bogdandy.
