We are pleased to invite you to the upcoming AMBSL-Forum "Law in Global Context" lecture on 7 May 2026.
Dr. Ganna Yudkivska,
Associate Professor of European and International law at the Academy of Advocacy of Ukraine
will deliver a speech on
"Fighting on All Fronts: Ukraine's Multi-Forum Litigation Strategy for Accountability and Reparations"
The event will take place at 4 p.m. in room A125 in the Faculty of Law (Rothenbaumchaussee 33). We would be pleased about your numerous appearances and a lively discussion.
In 1995-2001, Dr. Ganna Yudkivska led the legacy project on genocide studies in Ukraine and Moldova (now – Shoah Institute of the University of South California) and also served as human rights and national minorities expert for the Congress of National Minorities of Ukraine. She worked as a practicing lawyer and expert for different international and national institutions (2001-2009), including the Registry of the European Court of Human Rights. In 2009-2010, she was an advisor to the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe. Between 2010 and 2022, Dr. Yudkivska served as a Judge of the European Court of Human Rights, including as Vice-President and Section President of the Court. She is currently the Chair of the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention. Judge Yudkivska is an Associate Professor of European and International law at the Academy of Advocacy of Ukraine and also a member of the advisory boards of several legal magazines. Dr. Yudkivska is a Board Member of the European Society of International Law as of 2018, and its Vice-President as of 2022.
