Special Mentoring Program ATHENE
Three nurseries in close proximity to the university campus can be used by children of the doctoral students.
The programme provides targeted financial support for doctoral students with children. This is particularly aimed at funding and supporting the additional care required alongside the participation in the graduate school (attending conferences, visiting all-day seminars etc.) and shall be compensated beyond the range of nurseries.
Additional support for our doctoral students consists of a cooperation agreement with the mentoring programme ATHENE established by the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences. The programme was successfully established in a short period of time and is directed by the equal opportunities director, Prof. Dr. Christine Färber.
The goal of ATHENE is to provide young scientists with the opportunity to share experience with renowned scientists and business practitioners as well as to connect and facilitate access to networks whilst helping mentees to determine their own development prospects.
The mentoring relationship is established for one year and is particularly relevant for doctoral students in the final phase of the dissertation.
