Law, Finance, and Technology
The "Law, Finance, and Technology" (LFT) is an interdisciplinary research initiative developed by the Institute of Law & Economics at the University of Hamburg. The project, which started in January 2019, is managed by Prof. Georg Ringe and currently involves research associates Alessio
The LFT Research Project aims at enhancing our understanding of the role of law and regulation in the dynamics between finance and technology. Through legal theory and comparative law analysis, as well as empirical and experimental methodologies, the LFT project is committed to revealing possible shortcomings arising from the current corporate and financial regulatory architecture in dealing with the disruptive nature of technological innovations. Building on these findings, the project has the ambition to identify more efficient and sustainable regulatory alternatives to stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship. We gratefully acknowledge generous funding from the Joachim Herz Stiftung.
The LFT project will engage with academics, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and the public through original research, policy analysis, and institutional events. We are always happy to hear from you.
