Hamburg Lectures in Law and Economics

This week’s Hamburg Lecture in Law and Economics will be held by Jacob Gerner Hariri (University of Copenhagen) on Wednesday, 10.06.2026, at 6.15 pm CEST.

The presentation will be about “The Rise of the Modern State“ followed by an open round for questions and discussions. You can take a first glance at the topic in this abstract.

The lecture takes place as a hybrid event. The in-person event will take place in Room 223 at the Institute of Law and Economics (Alsterterrasse 1, 20354 Hamburg). For online participation via Zoom, please register by sending an e-mail to lectures-ile@uni-hamburg.de( lectures-ile"AT"uni-hamburg.de) by 11:30 AM and you will receive the access link prior to the lecture.
