Sophie Burchardi is a PostDoc at the Bucerius Law School Hamburg. Her research main emphasis lies on European Privat Law, Comparative Law and Capital Markets Law with a strong focus on law reacting to economic, technological or cultural developments. Her doctoral thesis covered the subject of civil liability of financial advisors in the European Common Market. More recently, her focus has shifted towards digitalisation as a challenge to the law. With its wide impact on the economy and society, Artificial Intelligence is a topic of particular interest to her. She is the Working Group AI and Law project leader. Aside from the German first and second state exams, she also holds a Master’s Degree in International Financial Law and the Laurea Magistrale in Giurisprudenza, the Italian law degree.
