Magdalene Schoch Fellowship Programm
The Faculty of Law at Universität Hamburg awards up to three Magdalene Schoch Fellowships each year to outstanding researchers who live in other countries and are associated with a university or other academic institution there. The fellowships make it possible for visiting academics to research and teach at the Faculty for a period of between one to six months.
The fellowship is generously funded. Remuneration is in the form of a fee. The monthly allowance also covers costs for travel, accommodation, and meals. Each fellow is provided with a workstation that includes standard infrastructure and equipment. The University and Faculty can provide assistance with the housing search and other practical matters. The Faculty expects fellows to give an academic lecture during their time at the Faculty and take on teaching responsibilities as befitting (e.g., block seminar or law courses in a foreign language).
Prof. Dr. Markus Kotzur, the vice dean for research and international affairs, is the contact for the Magdalene Schoch Fellowship. The office of the dean in the Faculty of Law decides whether to approve a fellowship.
