A law degree program that is concluded upon taking the first state bar examination and integrates historical, social, economic, political, and philosophical principles of law should provide students with a thorough knowledge of legal regulations and enable them to apply legal methods. It prepares students to independently solve practical problems and take an academic approach to legal issues.
In the concentration areas in particular, students have the opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge in a selected legal area. In addition to its interdisciplinary and international approach, the program helps students acquire key qualifications, enabling them to fulfill the requirements of the subsequent practical training period administered by the state (two-year preparatory service or legal clerkship—Vorbereitungsdienst or Referendariat).
