The Institute of Law and Economics (ILE) at the University of Hamburg has a vacancy as a Research Associate #340 as of 1 January 2025.
We are hiring a Research Associate for the research project ‘Disbanding Dysfunctional Social Norms’ which explores ways to modify dysfunctional social norms in laboratory and field experiments. The project is part of a larger research group funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
As a Research Associate, you will be responsible for administrative tasks as part of the project in addition to your scientific work. Due to funding from the German Research Foundation, you will not be expected to teach.
The applicant should have a university degree in a relevant field and very good knowledge of economic and empirical methods (e.g. in experimental economics and quantitative text analysis). A strong interest in research questions in the field of law and economics, institutional economics or political economy is also required. A very good command of written and spoken German and English is essential, as is an interest in the Arabic region.
