Tutors (m/f/d) wanted for the MEIL program in Hamburg

We are looking for Academic Tutors for the winter semester 2024/25 (starting in September 2024) to support lectures in the Master's program "European and International Law".
The one-year international Master's program "European and International Law (MEIL)", is an English-language Master's program. In the first semester, students acquire specialized knowledge in the fields of international public law, EU law and European business law. In the second semester, students can tailor their specializations to their professional goals. Our European Flying Faculty comes from ten renowned universities from all over Europe.
In addition to the lectures, tutorials are offered in smaller groups to practice and deepen the material. As a qualification, in-depth knowledge in at least one of the offered fields of law and good knowledge of the other fields is required. In particular, PhD students or those who have already completed their doctorate are also addressed. Motivation to deal with the challenges of studying from the perspective of predominantly international students is also desired.
A total of three to four positions are available. The working hours are approx. 15-20 hours per week (in average 6 teaching hours of 45 minutes each plus preparation). The remuneration is paid according to UHH regulations and is currently ca. 1.700 €/month.
Courses offered in the winter semester include: Public International Law, International Organizations, European Human Rights Law, International Dimension of Human Rights, Legal Foundations of EU Law, Area of Freedom Security and Justice, Internal Market, External
Relations/CCP, Competition Law, European Private Law, European Company Law, Insolvency Law, Financial Markets and Regulation and Legal Writing.
Tasks:
- Preparation and implementation of a tutorial for the lecture
- Weekly exchange with the other tutors regarding the planning and content of the tutorials
- Assisting students with questions regarding the lecture material
Required qualifications:
Completed law studies (Bachelor + Master).
- Ability to communicate and work in a team
- Confident handling of common computer applications
- Reliability and independence
- Willingness to commit to a period of at least one semester (September to January)
- Ability to teach in fluent English
