MEELS Students from University of Hamburg Explore Banking World at ECB

“18 students from the University of Hamburg studying in the Master in European and European Legal Studies, representing different backgrounds and spanning ten different countries, visited yesterday the ECB”
Despite the chilly weather, the enthusiasm among the students, warmed up the European Central Bank (ECB) lecture hall during an insightful session led by Mr. Felix Lechner. Mr. Lechner, a counselor to the ECB Representative to the Supervisory Board, provided an insightful lecture on the Banking Supervision activities and provided a deep dive into crucial aspects such as the organizational structure, legal framework, tasks, roles, and goals of the ECB.
The students, engaged in the lecture by posing questions and showcasing their eagerness to understand the intricate workings of the financial world. The diverse backgrounds and experiences of the students added a unique dimension to the learning environment, fostering a collaborative and enriching atmosphere. The interactive session concluded with a vibrant Q&A segment, where students seized the opportunity to pose additional and thoughtful questions. The answers of Mr. Lechner further helped them to better understand the ECB supervision mechanism.
