AI and Law Summer School
The 'AI and Law Summer School' is held each and every year at the European University Institute at the beginning of July in the gentle hills above the city of Florence in Tuscany, Italy
The 'AI and Law Summer School' addresses a target audience of doctoral students and aspiring scholars who want to do research in artificial intelligence and law and gives them a first introduction to the field. The summer school discusses models of legal argument – both rule- and case-based approaches – as well as knowledge representation. It also discusses evidential reasoning. Moreover, the summer school gives an introduction to methods for retrieving and analysing legal texts and makes students acquainted with predictive models for forecasting the outcomes of cases.
It is hosted by the European University Institute and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. It is also sponsored by the Universities of Bologna, Groningen, Hamburg, Swansea and Utrecht.
