PhD
Prerequisites and application
Doctoral projects are supervised in the research areas of the Chair, specifically in commercial and corporate law. There is particular interest in topics that focus on stock corporation and capital market law as well as private enforcement. We are happy to provide assistance in narrowing down and specifying the topics; however, in principle, finding a topic is already an essential part of the doctoral performance.
According to the doctoral regulations of the Faculty of Law at the University of Hamburg, the standard requirement for the doctorate is a First Law Examination or an equivalent degree with at least 9.00 points ("vollbefriedigend"). In addition, in order to apply for admission a seminar certificate with an evaluation of at least "vollbefriedigend" is mandatory. A second seminar certificate is needed, and has to be submitted at the latest together with the dissertation .
If you are interested in a doctorate and meet the standard requirements of the University of Hamburg, please send your doctoral application together with your curriculum vitae, the certificate of your first (and if available also second) law examination, at least one seminar certificate and a one to two pages résumé in a PDF file by e-mail to roberta.porchietto@uni-hamburg.de.
