Virtual Annual General Meeting: The Corona pandemic has thrown a spotlight on the need for reform in the law governing annual general meetings. From the beginning Professor Poelzig has provided scientific support to the discussion on the introduction of a virtual general meeting. She has recently commented comprehensively on §§ 130a-132 AktG in the standard commentary on stock corporation law, the beck-online.Großkommentar (formerly Spindler/Stilz), with a view to the amendment to the law on virtual general meetings. On behalf of the German Federal Government, Professor Poelzig was heard in the Bundestag as an expert on the law introducing virtual general meetings of public limited companies (see also the statement on the draft law).
Market abuse law: As a core element of capital market law, market abuse law is becoming increasingly important in academia and in the practice. Professor Poelzig has dealt with various aspects of market abuse law in numerous publications. Currently, she has, among others, dealt with regulations of the Market Abuse Regulation (Fuchs/Zimmermann, Wertpapierhandelsrecht, 3rd ed. 2023 and §§ 97 f. WpHG as regulations on private enforcement (Ebenroth/Boujong/Joost/Strohn, Handelsgesetzbuch, 4th ed. 2020).
