'Mathematical and Legal Foundations of AI' is an interdisciplinary research field investigated at the Chair for Global Legal History, Private Law and Computational Legal Theory at the University of Hamburg.

The research combines the disciplines of legal theory and mathematics and is dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of the foundations of artificial intelligence and especially of machine learning.    

It is directed by Prof. Dr. Wilderich Tuschmann (Karslruhe Institute of Technology, Department of Mathematics) together with Prof. Dr. Matthias Armgardt (University of Hamburg, Faculty of Law).
