The 'Center for the Interdisciplinary Study of Ancient Law' (CISAL) is an interdisciplinary research center founded at the Faculty of Law of the University of Hamburg.

It convenes scholars from the disciplines of law and history and dedicates itself to the interdisciplinary study of ancient Jewish, Greco-Hellenistic and Roman law.

It is directed by Prof. Dr. Matthias Armgardt, Prof. Dr. Kaja Harter-Uibopuu and Prof. Dr. Werner Rieß.
